Magellan's Monument -A monument located right in the heart of Cebu, City commemorates the advent of Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer in service of King Philip of Spain, thus the name Philippines. Magellan was eventually honored as the discoverer of this archipelago of 7,107 islands and islets. History also recognized him as the first person to circumnavigate the world.
Colorful Festivals- dubbed as the queen of annual festivals in the Philippines. It is done every 3rd Sunday of January in tribute to the black Sto. Niño image brought by Ferdinand Magellan from Spain in March, 1521.
